![]() So my imagination about what may be possible, is all over the place. Then I got an Alesis Q88 before switching to Korg TritonExtrme 88 and now Kronos 88. Yep, My first major keyboard was a Roland-? 76 soft key and i was lost on that thing, then i had a Kurzweil PC as my first major 88 key which gave me basic keyboard funtion experience. I have almost no actual external midi experience other than seeing them set up before and reading about how it works via my workstation manual/guides. I worked it out, but it still left me curious if more midi channel flexibilty was possible while simply working with Internal midi. Or thats what i assumed after trying copying without the Mfx and Tfx and not having that problem again. At first i thought because they shared the same midi channel(Gch) that they were sharing the ifx and possibly other details.īut then i thought it was is Mfx and Tfx part of the program copy that was affecting the entire Combi. I Still haven't gotten far into Karma yet.īut the thought crossed my mind when i was copying from program into each timbre and a copy into one timbre with Ifx and mfx ,Tfx ended up altering the other timbres's sound. And the Channel 1-16 options are still there for external midi patches, global assignment and Karma. I understand how its simpler with Gch, everything works out just fine that way. Sound developer, custom sound designer and trainer/Kronos support - for details! Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S The thing that helped me understand though was the fact that the physical keyboard you're playing only triggers on MIDI channel 1 Karma and sequencing can control the rest. I get where 19naia is coming from When I came from Kurzweil, I was used to your keyboard triggering all channels (works great for sequencing midi files and such for compatibility) so the mentality shift was peculiar when coming to Korg. ![]() Why do you want each timber on a different MIDI channel if they are only being used internally? You can use Karma to bring in 4 additional channels but it would be easier to just set the timbers to Gch. I suspect i am stuck with Gch tethered to the global set midi channel? I am just wondering if its possible to get the other midi channels to work outside of the drum track timbre without changing the global setting? Its working well for me like this any way. I know global setting is set to a Midi channel(1) and when i load programs into combi, they only sound off under Gch or 01G(the global midi set channel) and of course the drum track allows me to assign channel 10 or any other channel i want to whatever timbre the drum track is assigned to.īut all the other timbres respond only to 01G or Gch for the global select channel. I want to be able to assign midi channel 1 to timbre 1 and timbre 2 to midi channel 1 and all the way through like that to timbre 16 so they all have their own midi channel. Im working only in internal mode, no external midi devices here. Now I can have a combi slot set to the software channel to select the preset I need.ĭoes any one here know how to get the combi timbres to sound off with their programs when i set each timbre to its own Midi channel assign rather than all set to Gch. All I had to do was change the MIDI channel on the software off of the Kronos Global channel. Kronos² / Nautilus / KingKorg / RK-100s / CX3 / Logic / ProTools / Sibelius I'm trying to setup the Kronos to Native Instruments Kore running a couple of instances of Omnisphere to use live.Īs far as I'm aware setlist itself can't do this however a way of achieving what you want would be to create combis for each slot containing whichever Kronos sounds you wish to play, and the Combis themselves can then contain a channel strip set to EXT & sending the program change messages you need. I would love to be able to program my own PC message per setlist slot. ![]() It now sends a PC message depending on which slot I select. I would like to be able to send a selectable program change message from the set list, possible?
